4th of July Celebration
The City of Bridgeton would like to thank the Fourth of July Gold Sponsor, Leonardo DRS for their generous donation and support!
This year, the City of Bridgeton celebrates “The Best of Bridgeton” with our annual Fourth of July parade, sponsored by Leonardo DRS. Please note, due to the holiday falling on Sunday this year, the PARADE START TIME IS 1 p.m. Floats, antique cars, decorated vehicles, walking and performance groups and more will follow a route from Lockport Drive to Target on St. Charles Rock Rd. Please note, some streets in the St. Gerard Park neighborhood, and Natural Bridge Rd. will close at approximately 11 a.m. for parade preparation.
- Our parade marshal this year is the “best” known mascot in town: FREDBIRD®, and we will also honor retiring Bridgeton Police Chief Donald Hood.
- There is parking and viewing space available for those with accessibility needs at Faith Baptist Church, 12061 Natural Bridge Rd.
- After the parade, awards will be given out in the Target parking lot. There will be beverages for all parade participants; there will be no food for participants this year.
Fourth of July Evening Festivity Information:
Join the City of Bridgeton for our Fourth of July Celebration at BMAC (Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex)! The event is generously sponsored by Leonardo DRS. Evening festivities begin at 6 p.m. Trilogy will be in concert, also beginning at 6 p.m. A fireworks display begins shortly after dark, typically around 9 p.m. This year a special guest will sing the National Anthem!
Both BMAC Concession stands will be available for food and beverage purchases until 8:30 p.m. Menu items include nachos, hot dogs, French fries, chips, ice cream, soft pretzels, soda, lemonade, beer, and more. The stands accept credit card or cash. We will also have a limited number of food vendors in the parking lot in front of the band stand. Old favorites Kona Ice and Ray Ray’s Kettle Corn will be in attendance and we have a new vendor this year: S’more Shack (gourmet s’mores). Vendors are subject to change without notice. Event attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and beverage. Alcoholic beverages are allowed for those of legal consumption age; no glass containers, please.
Event parking is available at Hussmann Corporation, located at 12999 St. Charles Rock Rd., Bridgeton MO, 63044. This year, two shuttle buses will be available for patrons who are unable to walk the approximately .5 miles to the ballpark. Bus service will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will pick up at the corner of Enterprise Way and Taussig Rd. (next to the Robertson Fire Department firehouse). Passengers will be dropped off at Fielder’s Choice concession stand at BMAC. Shuttles to the park will end at 8 p.m. Shuttles back to parking will resume after the fireworks and run until 11 p.m. NO LARGE COOLERS or bulky items that block aisles will be allowed on the shuttle buses. Buses are not equipped with a wheelchair accessible lift. Bridgeton Police do have limited parking on-complex at BMAC for a limited number of persons with a disabled placard or license plate, who arrive prior to 8 p.m.
Permanent restrooms are located at both concession stands and in the park’s entry building, which is located behind the band shell. Event patrons are encouraged to use the restrooms and concession stand on the NORTH (newer, Dugout concession stand) side of the complex due to historically long lines on the south side of the park. There will also be portable toilets placed throughout the facility.
We will do our best to respond to questions on this post, but you are encouraged to call the Bridgeton Recreation Center at (314)739-5599 or Bridgeton City Hall at (314) 739-7500 with additional questions.
Bridgeton Parks and Recreation thanks Leonardo DRS for being the inaugural Gold Sponsor for our Fourth of July festivities. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Hussmann Corporation, McAlister’s Deli, the Bridgeton Police Department, the Pattonville and Robertson Fire Departments, and our parks and recreation staff for their support, donations, and hard work.
