All persons entering the facility must pay admission, including non-swimming adults. Please see our current activity guide (PDF) for all pool rules regarding supervision of children in our aquatic facility.

Lifeguard Training

We are now hiring lifeguards.

Pre-Requisites

You must meet the following standard to be considered:

  • Minimum age of 15
  • Must swim 300 yards continuously using these strokes in the following order (all 300 yards must be completed using rhythmic breathing with your face in the water and a stabilizing, propellant kick):
    • 100 yards front crawl
    • 100 yards of breaststroke
    • 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke or a combination of both

Skills Testing

Skills testing will be held on the first day of class. You must be able to complete the following exercises:

  • Retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, and swim back to the starting point with the object within one minute and forty seconds. While returning to the starting point, you must hold the 10 pound object with both hands and keep your face above the water
  • Surface dive to a minimum depth of 9 feet
  • Swim 20 yards using a front crawl or breaststroke

If interested in completing lifeguard training or being hired as a lifeguard, please email Jimmy Kirincich. Successfully completing this course does not guarantee employment, but is a critical step in becoming employed as a lifeguard at many area pools.
