The Bridgeton Historical Commission is a 9 member board of residents that is charged with the task of procuring and maintaining materials of historical and cultural significance to the city. This commission, along with its auxilary members and other volunteers, also oversees the operation and tours of the Payne-Gentry Historical House located in Gentry Park.
Video History Archive
The commission's latest project involves compiling an oral history of Bridgeton through video interviews with individuals that grew up or spent a significant part of their lives in the city and surrounding areas. These first-person accounts give viewers a personal glimpse of what it was like growing up and living in this community over the years. The commission has made these videos available for viewing online at www.vimeo.com/bridgetonmohistory. No special viewer is required. If you have some stories that you feel would contribute to the project, please contact Cindy Lay at 739-5599 to arrange for an interview.
