Police Officer Ernest Milton Brockman, age 25, was killed on April 18, 1966, when his patrol car was involved in an automobile accident on St. Charles Rock Road near I-70. Officer Brockman was responding to a bank alarm at the time of the accident.

Officer Brockman had served with the Bridgeton Police Dept. for over 2 years and was survived by his wife and son.

Officer Brockman was the first Bridgeton Police Officer to give his life in the line of duty serving the City of Bridgeton.

Police Officer Scott Morgan Armstrong, age 31, was killed on January 12, 2005 when his patrol car was struck head-on by a vehicle being driven the wrong way on I-370, near I-270. The driver of the wrong way vehicle, who was drunk at the time, was also killed in the incident.

Police Officer Armstrong had served with the Bridgeton Police Department for 2 years and had previously served with the Oak Harbor, Washington, Police Department, and Sunset Hills, Missouri, Police Department, for a total of 3 years. He is survived by his son, parents Larry and Karen Armstrong who are long time Bridgeton residents, his, sister, brother-in-law, and girlfriend.

Officer Armstrong was the second Bridgeton Police Officer to give his life in the line of duty serving the City of Bridgeton.
