To receive resident rates, patrons must have a current Bridgeton Resident ID Card or Bridgeton Recreation Center Membership. Season passes can be purchased at the Bridgeton Recreation Center and are only valid at the Bridgeton Crossing Family Aquatic Park.

Youth Swim Lessons

Make your summer swim lesson plans now! Swim lesson registrations will be accepted beginning May 1 at the Recreation Center for Bridgeton residents and BRC members. and non-residents may begin registering on May 8.  Please note: due to the popularity of summer swim lessons, only cancellations received two weeks prior to the start of the class will be guaranteed a refund. Cancellations within two weeks of the start date will only be refunded if a replacement can be found.

Parent/Child Lessons:       Ages 6 months-3 years

Enjoy a class with your child! Class goals will be to develop a high comfort level in young children in and around the water, to develop breath control, work on basic swimming and survival skills and progress to a readiness to swim.

Beginner Lessons:   Ages 3-5

Designed with the younger preschooler in mind, this class is a fun introduction to the water with an emphasis on safety and basic swimming skills including water entry, water adjustment, breath control, supported and unsupported front and back floating and kicks, and basic arm actions.

Learn to Swim-Ages 5-13 

Level 1                         

This level is for those who have had no prior aquatic instruction or are timid in the water. Students will learn pool entries and exits, breath control, floats on front and back, glides, arm and leg action, lifejacket use and will be introduced to the deep end.

Level 2   

This level builds from Level 1. Students will learn to retrieve underwater objects, freestyle with side breathing fundamentals, backstroke and whip-kick lead up skills. Students must pass the swim test to pass this level. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Level 1 or ability to fully submerge underwater comfortably and complete 10-15 yards of combined arm and leg water movement with face in the water.

Level 3   

Level 3 skills are highly dependent upon a strong Level 2 base. Students continue to practice freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, scissor kick and learn turns, somersaults, elementary backstroke and basic diving.

Students will learn stride and standing dives, surface dives, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly lead up skills, treading water, flip turns and continue to perfect elementary backstroke, front crawl with side breathing and backstroke.

The Crossing features a zero-depth entry leisure pool with an interactive aquatic play structure, splash pad (infant area), 21’ high body flume, powered activity channel, vortex, activity pool and a 25 yard competitive swimming pool with two 1-meter diving boards and a drop slide.

Looking for a great place to host your child’s next birthday party? Ask us about our Splish Splash party packages.  Basic packages include swim admissions for up to twelve children and two adults, two hour exclusive use of our party canopy and a pizza slice and a small beverage for each member of your party.
