The City of Bridgeton Finance Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Accounting Clerk.  This is a full-time position which includes a full range of benefits including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, employee health, dental, life, disability and retirement programs.


Performs detailed bookkeeping, accounts payable and clerical tasks in the processing of accounting transactions, and in the preparation and maintenance of related reports and records; also assists in month-end/year-end closing, audit/budget preparation and payroll.  Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in  written or oral form.  Performs arithmetic calculations.  Perform reading, writing and speaking at a business level.  High level of confidentiality.  Requires attention to detail, accuracy in numbers, and back checking.


Experience:  Associates degree in accounting with three years related experience preferred.  Knowledge of fund and budgetary accounting.
