BRIDGETON COMMUNITY CENTER

The Bridgeton Community Center has multiple meeting rooms and recreational facilities available for rent. Meeting room rates are based on a maximum of six hours during normal operating hours of the center. There is an additional fee assessed for each hour beyond this allocation or normal operating hours. No reservation is accepted less than 2 weeks prior to the event. Recreational areas are only available after normal building hours and require additional after-hour personnel fees. Please check with the center for current personnel costs.

- Party style is the capacity with guests seated around tables. Theater style is the seated capacity with chairs only.
- An additional hourly charge will be added for each additional guard needed as determined by the Aquatic Supervisor

 

ADMITTANCE POLICIES
The Community Center is intended for recreational and leisure enjoyment by all Bridgeton residents regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin or ability.

1. A current parks and recreation identification card is required by all residents 6 years and   older for admittance to the center and to receive preferential pricing on programs and services.
2. Children 5 and under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent or adult guardian while utilizing the Community Center.
3. Children 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or adult guardian when utilizing the Community Center after 6 p.m.
4. Non-residents may use the center for general use by purchasing a pass or paying the appropriate daily admission fee.
5. All recreation program participants, spectators of department sponsored events, support staff for persons with disabilities, Mid-East Area Agency on Aging participants, and facility renters along with their invited guests may enter the center free of charge.  However, these individuals are restricted to the area of the building associated with their attendance.

CODES OF CONDUCT
The City of Bridgeton reserves the right to revoke participation privileges without refund for anyone not complying with, but not limited to, the following rules of conduct:
1. Endanger the safety of others.
2. Use profanity in any verbal or gesture form.
3. Engage in any fighting.
4. Smoking in the community center.
5. Be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
6. Misuse or abuse the equipment or facility.

COMMUNITY CENTER RAQUETBALL COURTS
All courts will be used primarily for racquetball, handball and wallyball activities on a reservation basis with admittance limited to a one-hour reservation per day per person.

Residents $4 per hour (non-prime time) $5 per hour (prime time)

Non-residents $8 per hour (non-prime time) $10 per hour (prime time)

RESERVATION POLICIES
Reservations may be made in person or by phoning 739-5599. Court time prior to 4 p.m. on weekdays is considered non-prime time. All weekend times and weekday times after 4 p.m. are considered prime time. To get priority in making early reservations, resident players will be required to provide a current Bridgeton I.D. number. Players are required to present their current Bridgeton I.D. card to pay the resident rate.

Reservations may be made:
a. By residents after 1:30 p.m. two days in advance.
b. By non-residents after 1:30 p.m. one day in advance.

Hourly court rentals are available on the hour and on the half-hour with starting times as follows:
Mon.-Fri. 6:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Saturday 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

A Parks & Recreation I.D. card or driver’s license are required to check out wallyball equipment. Wallyball players are responsible for setting up and taking down their own net and returning the equipment to the front desk.

All unreserved court time shall be designated as “open play” and will be available on a first-come, first- served basis at the regular hourly rate.

COURT RULES
1. No black racquetballs, black-soled shoes or wood racquets.
2. No food, drinks or smoking.
3. All players will be required to wear shirts, tennis shoes and eye protection at all times.
4. Abusive language will not be tolerated.
