Pavilion Reservation Policies Residents wishing to reserve a city park must obtain and pay for their permit in person at the Community Center. Bridgeton residents requesting facilities must have a current parks and recreation I.D. card in order to receive resident rates. No reservations will be accepted up to three (3) days prior to the event. All unreserved time is considered as first-come, first-served. Pavilion reservations do not begin until 10 a.m., although the parks themselves will be open at 8 a.m. Ball field use with pavilion reservations requires a separate permit
Cost for residents is $30 a day and $35 a day for non-residents.
Ball Field Reservation Policies Ball field reservations for all parks, excluding the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic complex (BMAC), must be obtained and paid for in person at the Community Center. The fee is $15 a day for residents and $25 a day for non-residents. All unreserved time is considered as first-come, first serve. For information regarding fields at BMAC, please contact John Bell, Recreation Supervisor at 739-5599.
Refund Policy Refunds will not be issued for pavilion or ball field reservations due to inclement weather.
Cancellation Policy Permits must be surrendered at the Community Center at least thirty (30) days in advance of reservation date in order to receive a refund.
Hickory Woods Hickory Woods is Bridgeton's first natural area. This 10.5-acre tract adjacent to Gentry Park includes a walking trail through a beautiful woodland setting. The area was purchased by the Missouri Department of Conservation and leased to the city for your enjoyment as a natural park.
Rollerblading Facilities Rollerblading facilities are now open on a first come, first served basis in Bridgeway, O'Connor, and Spanish Village Parks. The Parks and Recreation Department recommends that all skaters wear protective equipment while using these facilities.
Forestry Policy Park Operations is responsible for tree maintenance including pruning and removal of hazardous trees on city right-of-ways. Call 291-8643 to have a qualified arborist assess the health of the trees at your residence.
Your Help is Needed The Park Operations Division strives to keep all parks as clean and safe as possible. Please notify Park Operations at 291-8643, to report any vandalism, unsafe conditions, or inappropriate use of facilities. For emergencies, please contact the Bridgeton Police Department, 739-7557.
Lighted Tennis Courts Four lighted tennis courts are available at the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex (BMAC)year round and can be activated by players via a manual timer. The timer is located adjacent to the tennis court gate closest to the racquetball courts. Players can turn the dial to “ON” to engage the lights for a one hour time period. At any time during the cycle, the dial can be reset to begin a new 60 minute cycle. Time is active ½ hour before sunset and become inactive at 10 p.m. CST.
Park Rules The Parks and Recreation Department reminds all patrons of the following rules which apply for the use of city park facilities: 1. Parks are open to the public from sunrise to sunset. 2. Comfort stations are open from April 1-October 31. 3. Motorized vehicles are only allowed on authorized paved roads and parking areas. The speed limit is 10 miles per hour. 4. Swimming, wading, and boating on Kiwanis Lake at Hellebusch Park are prohibited. 5. Fishing in Kiwanis Lake is allowed only on a catch-and-release basis. 6. Fires are allowed only in barbecue pits. 7. All trash must be disposed of in waste containers. 8. Camping is not allowed. 9. Pets must be secured by a leash no longer than six feet. 10. Horses allowed by permit only. 11. Solicitation of any kind is not allowed. 12. Killing or maiming any animal or plant is prohibited. 13. Golf activities are prohibited in neighborhood parks. 14. Any person, firm or corporation who violates any of these provisions may be fined up to $500.
Bridgeton Recycles We encourage all our park users to utilize the new aluminum can receptacles located at all picnic shelters and at the Bridgeton Municipal Athletic Complex. Your cooperation in depositing only aluminum cans in these containers is greatly appreciated. |
